Pat Morgan, Advocate for Homeless is Blogging!
With thirty years of experience in working to break the cycle of homelessness, here I am, the newest blog on the block, plugging away at my first blog post. Why should anybody be interested in what I have to say about homelessness and the issues that create and perpetuate our national disgrace?
BecauseI spent almost every weekday afternoon for five years as a volunteer helping the “street people” in Memphis, Tennessee?
Because they changed my life? Gave it meaning and focus and direction? Sent me on a wildly improbable journey? Led me to live out my dreams, always tempered with a touch of survivor’s guilt because we lost so many to the concrete killing fields of homelessness?
Because former President Bill Clinton, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Fred Karnas, my all-time favorite national advocate for homeless people, are all in my corner, have just endorsed my work and wished me well with my just-published book, The Concrete Killing Fields, One Woman’s Battle to Break the Cycle of Homelessness?
That’ll work. See attached and stay tuned!
